Camp Essence is a two-week summer camp and mentoring program focused on the total well-being of young women entering 6th-12th grade. Mentees spend the first week in sessions dedicated to community service, academics, athletics, religion, and entrepreneurship. They then spend the second week traveling for camping experiences outside of their local community. 20-30 young women are accepted each year; our next session will be June 23-29, 2025.
Drawing on the success of Camp Proverbs and its positive impact on young men, Don Peppers and his wife Shelia wanted to mentor young women as well. Camp Essence was born in 2006 and has helped many young women reach their potential through enhancing their understanding of their value and identity!

Did you know “Essence” is actually an acronym? It stands for Educated – Spiritual – Stellar – Exceptional – Natural – Celebrated – Eminent. These values and attitudes are what we work to instill in our mentees.
